Road Trip

Sunrise: 5:36 am Sunset: 8:18 pm Moonrise: 5:31 am Phase: New Moonset: 9:28 pm

Last Sunday, my husband and I drove to Ohio. It took about 20 hours. We spent one night there, and then drove back. What a trip. Illinois is the absolutely worst state to drive through. The speed limit is only 65 and the road works are horrible. And Chicago is gridlock. We avoided it on the way back and drove an extra 100 miles to have the shortest possible drive through Illinois and still we saved an hour and a half off our trip.

Strides Against Breast Cancer

Sunrise: 5:40 am Sunset: 8:13 pm Moonrise: 2:33 am Phase: Waning Crescent Moonset: 2:09 pm

I walked this 3.2 mile walk yesterday in 41 minutes. I walked off all my anger and frustration and now I am so stiff! I filled in a Hope Starts Here card for Terri Gray, who died last month from IBC. I only knew her from WebMD, but I cannot describe how kind and compassionate she was. She left such a legacy of love. Her friend also walked for her in CA and she sent me this button.

10,000 cases of breast cancer are missed by mammograms each year.

Wal-Mart

Today, I watched Wal-Mart, the High Cost of Low Prices. (I’m trying to teach my children to be good citizens of the world.) What really stunned me was the allegation that the Walton family has given less than 1 percent of their huge fortune to charity. (Compared to Bill Gates’ 58 percent.). Outrageous.
